Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) 2025: Empowering the Next Generation of Leaders




The Rotary District 7620 is gearing up for its annual Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program, scheduled for February 15-17, 2025. This intensive three-day, two-night leadership training event is designed to nurture and develop leadership skills in high school students who have demonstrated potential for making significant contributions to their schools and communities.


What is RYLA?

RYLA is a globally recognized program that originated in New Zealand and Australia in 1959. It was created to address the need for recognizing and developing exceptional young individuals. The program has since been adopted by Rotary International and is now conducted worldwide.


Program Highlights

Participants in the RYLA 2025 program can look forward to:

  1. Outdoor and indoor team challenges

  2. Recreational activities

  3. Personal development sessions focusing on:

    • Problem-solving

    • Communication

    • Leadership

    • Risk-taking

    • Teamwork

The program aims to help students explore their strengths and challenges, teaching them how to leverage this self-awareness for personal growth and community improvement.


Who Can Attend?

RYLA is open to high school students in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades who have shown leadership potential. Interested students should reach out to their local Rotary Club for sponsorship opportunities.


Registration Details

For those interested in attending RYLA 2025, here are the important dates and fees:

  • Early Bird Registration: $360 per student (ends December 31st)

  • Regular Registration: $410 per student (ends February 10th)

Students must complete their registration after their sponsoring club has made the payment.
